2nd Years Visit Castlecomer Discovery Park


2nd year Numeracy & Literacy trip to Castlecomer Discovery Park, Friday 9th March. Mrs H. Foley, Mr. K. O’Sullivan & Mrs M. McGrath led the group on a very successful trip that was both educational and thoroughly enjoyable. Students braved the longest zip line in Ireland, orienteered the woodlands and mastered a Mathematics trail.

Further School Closure

For Health and safety reasons due to adverse weather conditions the school will remain closed for students and staff today Wednesday 28th February, Thursday 1st March and Friday 2nd March 2018. The school will reopen on Monday 5th March 2018.
Please note also that the school musical is postponed. We will reschedule. We will inform you when the rescheduled dates are decided



 

 

 

JCPA Certificates Presentation

A little bit of history happened this evening as Priomhoide Ailbhe Ní Neachtain presented our 1st ever Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement certificates (JCPA) to the Junior Cert Class of 2017.The JCPA recognizes a much broader range of learning experiencs & replaces the JuniorCertificate. It will be the certification for all JuniorCycle students from 2017. Congrats to all recipients.

Fota Wildlife Park

On Thursday 8th March Mrs. H. Foley & her 5th Yr LCVP class accompanied by Mr D. McCarthy attended Fota Wildlife Park. The day started out with an insightful lecture highlighting the business aims, mission statement, structure and finances followed by a very interesting behind the scenes tour of the park. Much fun and inspiration was gained by all.

Charlie Hayes, Ireland’s leading Geography author of post-primary history and geography textbooks visited today and gave Junior Cert. students a very helpful talk on how to best prepare for the new Junior Cycle Geography exam.
