GP 14 Autumn Open Championships

Congratulations to Ella Crowe (3rd Year) who took part in the GP 14 Autumn Open Championships at Rosses Point, Sligo recently. Ella has a very busy weekend competing in events both on Saturday and Sunday.

Séamus Power -Drops in


Professional golfer and past pupil, Séamus Power took time out of his busy schedule to visit his Alma Mater on Thursday last. The Friary is very proud of Séamus’ success on the golf course, most notably his win in the United Leasing and Finance Championship in May of this year making him the first Irishman to win on the Web.com Tour, the developmental tour of the PGA Tour.

Junior Ladies Football News


Junior Ladies Football TeamOur Junior Ladies Football team travelled to Cahir to take on John the Baptist, Co Limerick in first round of Junior A championship. While The Friary girls were well beaten the team displayed a good fighting spirit particularly in the second half. Loretto, Fermoy are our opponents in the next round. Best of luck girls. Junior Ladies' Football Challenge 2nd Years vs 3rd Years


Fifty-three girls participated in a trial for the Junior Ladies Football Panel. A great afternoon of exercise and fresh air for the girls. Many thanks to Ms Angela Walsh and Ms Lisa Hanrick who organised the challenge. Best of luck to our Junior Ladies Footballers in the coming year of competition.

European Week of Sport- September 10th – 23rd

Fun Camp for Incoming 1st Year Students

FUN Camp 2Our Incoming 1st Year students enjoyed a week of sporting activities co-ordinated by Ms Lisa Hanrick and Mr Daragh Duggan (PE Dept) last week. Their schedule included Rounders, Dodgeball,Orienteering and Team Building activities. The students responded enthustiacally to all events, lots to look forward to 1st Years as Friary students!


Séamus Power to represent Ireland in Rio

Past pupil Séamus Power has been selected as part of the golfing team to represent Ireland in the upcoming Rio Olympic Games. Fellow team members are Padraig Harrington and Leona McGuire. Congrats Séamus and best of luck to all three of you.??????
