The Senior footballers of the Friary saw their great campaign come to an end in Haywood College in Laois last weekend. On the day, our Stokestown counterparts were just that bit sharper and probably deserved their victory on the day.  It was just reward on their part for the cruel way we denied them in the 2013 All Ireland final.

East Munster Cross Country Champions

This Junior Girls' Cross Country Team finished second in Munster and travel to Belfast to compete in the All-Ireland's on Saturday, March 11th. Best of luck girls.

It was a case of mission accomplished for the Friary hurlers as they accounted for the Connacht champions in a cold Abbotstown last Sunday. It took a while before the boys found their rhythm but find it they did and in the process took another step on this dual journey that shows no sign of stopping.

All-Ireland Cross Country Championship 2017

Girls Cross Country

Junior Girls' Team

The All- Ireland Cross Country Championships were held in Mallusk, Belfast on Saturday , March,11th .The Friary team who made the long journey to Belfast did us proud. Accompanied by Bro Patrick Lennon OSA (team coach) and Ms Michelle Healy , the following students represented St Augustine's: Kate Killigrew, Róise Ní Mhuirí, Tess Curran, Áine O Neil, Ashling Shanley and Megan Keogh made up the Junior Girls team and finished in 6th place. Michael Troy has avery impressive run in the Intermediate Boys race. Micheál Power finished as 6th Individual in the Senior Boys race.

1st Year Girls' Soccer team who secured a 2-0 victory over Ard Scoil na Deise in a challenge match recently. Well done girls and mentor Mr William Kelly.

U14 Hurlers Defeat Balckwater CS in County Championship

For the first time in quite a while a Friary hurling team got the better of Blackwater CS in a competitive competition when our u14s were successful in tough conditions in Lismore on Monday last.

Under 15 Hurling

 Our U15 hurlers had a convincing win in the 1st rd of the Munster Championship last week beating SMGS Blarney in Killeagh. We did the bulk of our scoring in the 1st half and had a comfortable lead at half time. It was a more even 2nd half and we eventually won out on a score line of 5 10 – 1 08. Next up we play Colaiste an Trionoide Youghal in the quarter final.

For the first time since 2009, St Augustine's College are the Munster C hurling champions. After some near misses and much heartbreak in the last few years, this determined group of Friary students have returned the Friary to the winners list in Munster Colleges Hurling.
